Sleeping In

Well, July 4th is past, the first hurricane of the season has formed, and summer is in full swing. For me that means sweating as I accomplish my morning and evening livestock feedings. For my teenage daughter it means sleeping until I ring the phone at lunch time. I came from a household where everyone was expected to be up and finished breakfast by 8:00am whether you had any where to go or not. I like allowing my daughter the luxury of sleeping late. Her summer break is only three weeks, what can it hurt? She spends the entire school year in advanced classes, making great grades while playing sports and raising and showing livestock. She earns her own money and saves for college. She never goes over the minutes on her mobile phone plan. I hope I can remember all these great characteristics when I am telling her children about her.
